For the first time in the history of the competition, two preliminary finals will be contested under lights at the MCG. The Western Bulldogs will take on the might of Geelong after their Friday night triumph over Sydney by 37 points.
The Dogs head in to the game with little injury worries, whilst Geelong sweat anxiously on the fitness of tough half-forward Paul Chapman. On Saturday night, St Kilda face the Hawks in an attempt to prolong the career of veteran champion Robert Harvey. The Saints were ruthless in their attack on Collingwood and through captain Nick Riewoldt climbed to elated heights with a 34-point win, booking a spot in the second last week of September.
